Here are after our SVA test. A number of fail points but a good day anyway sun and no windscreen! (only nearly swollowed one fly)
Seat belt ancourage point failed, no documentation to say the seat would withstand an impact. So HUGE! thank to Black-Cat (Tom) for poping round with his TIG and welding this bar in for us. Here he is using a tube notcher to but a perfect edge in.
The resulting cut in the metal tube
This is one hell of a piece of kit! Setup your angle and off you go. No need to mess about with an angle grinder bit by bit getting your pipes to line up.
TIG welders are great, unlike MIG there's no splatter of bits going all over the place!
Tom squeezed into a compromising position trying to weld under the bar!
Welded very nicely! This stuff is CDS - cold draw steel (as Tom tells me! I went into metal supermarket in Southampton and asked for steel tube)
Here's the other side. Lots of sanding was required to clean off the powder coat from the weld area.
Area covered over cleaned and sanded ready for epoxy roll bar paint.
Front ready for paint
Painted from the front.
Finally several coats of expoy roll bar and chassis paint drying.
