Question:

5 stud conversion

Answer:

There are two options to take your E30 Sportster from 4 to 5 stud:

1) Use a 4 - 5 stud adapter - there doen't seem to be  a regular source for these things, but the crop up occasionally on eBay. I had brake pad clearance issues with mine after putting new pads on so I decided to use the 4 stud alloys to start with. I've had a few questions on where I got the adapters from. I purchased them off eBay, however the original seller bought them off someone in the states who had them made by: http://www.motorsport-tech.com/

2) Do it properly ;-) Use E36 Compact rear trailing arms - the 318ti had disks, or Z3 trailing arms. For the front you could get a set of E36 struts and have Marlin modify them to fit. They do an E36 based Sportster as well. I've not idea how much Marlin charge to do the conversion to the struts but it always worth giving Terry a call!
